The winters here are snowy, so I get a lot of use out of my snowblower. For those of you who live in a place where snowblowers are commonplace, they make quite a bit of noise when in use. I've tried saving the rubber earplugs that come with airplanes to try and reduce that noise, but they don't fit well in my ears, don't provide much sound insulation, and are easy to lose. However, these Golex ones seem to fit comfortably in my ears, sound insulation is not bad, and they are easy to carry (and not lose). Until now, I have only used ear buds, and it seems that they are made to fit comfortably in my ears, probably because of their know-how. I would like to test them more in the summer while using a lawn mower and write a review, but unfortunately, it is winter, so I will be satisfied with this test for now.

GOLREX QUIET EARPLUGS I’m one of those people who wakes up at the slightest sound. It’s been such a struggle to get a good night sleep. My partner likes to wake up before I do and many days I would get up grumpy because I was woken by just normal walking round sounds or him coughing once. Not great! Not to mention tossing and turning all night because he dared to snore. We also have pets and the cats all insist on being in and out of the room constantly. I can’t close the door because they will howl their heads off until I give in. I end up getting up several times a night opening doors for them. Now it’s winter our neighbor is running his loud truck outside for half an hour at 4.30am to heat it before he drives to work. I get it, you want to be warm and you can’t help leaving at 4.30 but I still want to go out there and smash all their windows when I’m so desperate for a good night sleep! I have tried using regular ear plugs but they felt pretty nasty and didn’t help that much. Everything was muffled but still loud. I also spent the whole night feeling like they were about to pop out, while also being worried that they would get stuck in my ears forever. I also prefer to use things that are not single use and throw away. So when I saw these Golrex Ear Plugs advertised I had to give them a try. I actually already own Golrex Ear buds which I use with my phone. So I knew I was happy with the quality and reliability of this company. They come in a nice little square box and include a lifetime warranty to activate, several different size earplugs to find the right fit for you and nice, clear instructions. And of course the handy little carrying case with a loop for attaching it to a hook or belt. Mine will be added to a key ring in summer so I can enjoy my garden without listening to the neighbors work calls or the multitude of dogs whose owners don’t care they are barking all the time. I might even buy another set to keep by my bed, I never want to be without them at night. So how was my 1st night using them? Well I slept til midday, (it was a weekend). The earplugs fit snugly and felt very comfortable. I tossed and turned a little to see if they felt secure, which they did. I heard NOTHING. It was amazing. I closed my eyes and the next thing I knew it was 11.30am and my cat was throwing himself at me over and over again to wake me up. I had slept so soundly I’m sure he was concerned! No noise, no neighbor truck, no snoring, no cat yowling. I feel amazing. The ear plugs were still in my ears so no worries about them falling out. I tested with an alarm to make sure I could hear that, which I could. I also heard my phone ring when I left it by my bed. I cannot recommend these ear plugs enough. I’m looking forward to using them outside this summer when I want to enjoy my garden.

I spend a fair amount of time outside operating noisy equipment. Lawn mowers, tractors, chainsaws, brush cutters, leaf blowers, weed-eaters, etc. And I also spend time in my woodworking shop using various saws, routers, planers, jointers and drills. I've tried the big, bulky headphone style hearing protection devices but gave up on them because they made my head feel like it's in a vise. Soft foam ear plugs work better, but I have to pop them out every little bit because they begin to feel irritating in my ear. I saw these earplugs online so I thought I would give them a try. So far, I've been very pleased with them! They're easy to install, light-weight, comfortable, and they stay put in my ears. The ear plugs stay in and the noise stays out! I've purchased other Golrex products in the past and have been very pleased with the quality of them all. I'm sure these ear plugs won't be the last Golrex product I buy!

The set also includes many interchangeable silicone earpieces so you can decide which one fits you the best and accommodates a variety of ear shapes and sizes. Once an appropriate sized earpiece is connected the earplugs fit snugly but comfortably and block out almost all of noise from the surrounding area. Great for sleeping or focusing on work to eliminate distractions.
